The right parameters of the equalizer will give a realistic and rich sound when listening to the music of any genre. The equalizer settings for the perfect sound consist of choosing the finished preset and adjusting it further. It seems to be nothing complicated, but to choose the optimal values for a person without musical education and hearing is difficult; the process lasts for hours. It is important to consider the musical genre to which you adjust, the features of the reproduction of a particular device, the perception of the person and the environment.
What is the equalizer, and how to use it?
The equalizer (rarely the Setembro block applicable to the device) is an application or device for selectively adjusting the signal’s amplitude depending on its frequency characteristics. Simply put, the principle of the equalizers is to fine-manage the frequencies of the audio signal by amplifying or weakening in certain ranges. There are amplifying, weakening, and combined (these include all modern solutions) programs and plug-ins to work with the frequency characteristics of sound signals.
Hardware equalizers are used mainly at the recording stage by professional recording studios. The equipment gives the sound of the character and highlights the vocalist’s voice or the sound of a particular instrument at the right moments. Software solutions are used by amateurs and music fans already at the stage of information of the track and giving the compositions a specific sound while listening to music.
With the correct configuration, the program will improve the acoustics in the sound space where the listener is located. The simplest example of using an equalizer is selecting a template that matches the music style you listen to and manually adjusting it – amplifying (attenuating) the sound in certain frequency ranges. It is the ranges, not the specific frequencies. The graphic equalizer, for example, does not adjust a single frequency (30, 125, 500 Hz) but a range around the specified frequency, for example, 30±10 Hz. For high frequencies (HF), it expands to hundreds or even thousands of Hertz, depending on the number of bands.
Here you will have to rely more on your hearing and intuition. For the sake of experiments, it is better not to touch the sliders, professionals created the presets, and it is unlikely to achieve a better sound. Most likely, on the contrary, the naturalness of the composition will be lost, except in cases of making adjustments (lower or raise the slider by a couple of positions) to suit your taste and acoustics.
What are EQ bands, and what are they for?
Stripes are inherent in the graphic equalizer – it is a variant of visualization of the separation of the frequency audible by the human ear (16-20 Hz… 16-20 kHz) on ranges. Each band corresponds to a certain frequency range of acoustic vibrations: 30, 250, 500, and 1, 4, 8, 16 kHz. Frequencies up to 2.4 kHz are given more attention because the human ear is more sensitive, less receptive, and high plays an even smaller role. With age, the sensitivity of the hearing organs decreases, and the frequency range on both sides narrows.
When setting up, consider this. To improve the sound, focus more on the low sound.
The number of bands (sometimes graphic equalizers perform in the form of “spinners”) of frequency ranges depends on the accuracy and subtlety of sound tuning. In theory, using a 16-band equalizer is more expedient than a 6-band, provided skillful use, but the first is difficult to set up. We’ll have to choose the best values for your hearing for longer.
What does the equalizer do?
The equalizer enhances or lowers the amplitude (volume) of acoustic vibrations in certain frequency bands. The amplification of sound below 70 Hz saturates the sound, in the range of 175-250 Hz – causes a drone, the level of which depends on the degree of gain.
At 80-250 Hz – sounds human voice, a female has an increased frequency – 160-250 Hz, male – lower – 80-150 Hz. Consider this if you need to emphasize the vocalist’s voice or make a legible speech when recording poorly or on a cheap playback device. A subwoofer is used to improve the sound of low frequencies (up to 300 Hz).
Varieties of equalizers
The equalizers are divided into graphic and parametric. They are implemented by hardware or software. Equipped with sliders to amplify and reduce the volume in each frequency range. The regulators’ position displays the amplitude-frequency characteristic (ACH) of the device or application in graphic form. Depending on the scope of operation, a different number of bands are presented: for music fans 6-18, for professional spheres – 25-31 lanes per channel. Ceiling filters represent the lowest and highest frequencies.

In digital devices, the processing is done by mathematical methods, analogs make more changes to the sound, but the sound becomes alive, realistic.

Don’t expect a miracle from an inexpensive tape recorder, spending hours trying to achieve crystal clear sounding. Such a decision will not protect against extraneous noises. Even the popular Pioneer tape recorders are equipped mainly with a 5-band EJ.
Set up the equalizer for wireless headphones
Configuring the equalizer on wireless headphones with Blutuz’s interface is to build a diagram that mirrors the amplitude-frequency characteristics of the device. It is located in technical documentation, on the official website of the equipment manufacturer, on a specialized forum.
The ideal sound is considered to be smooth horizontal ACH, but it isn’t easy to achieve. After the reflection, bring the parameters to the ideal, turning each runner to the position down or up until the sound is satisfying. Options are stored in a separate template. Most applications can do it.
It is quite an approximate, and not ideal, the reflection of the ACH with its subsequent adjustment.
The next ACH shows the front of the bass at low frequencies, the subsidence of the chart in the middle, the overestimation of the HF, and the rapid fall, starting with 10 kHz, all the more significant with the increase in frequency.
Close to the ideal will be the following scheme (in the example of the player AIMP): the reduction of bass, the strengthening of the HS, the cut of peaks on the HF, and a sharp increase in the amplitude after 11 kHz.
How to set up the equalizer on your phone (Android and iOS)
On outdated smartphone models, the equalizer may not be available. Located in the sound settings or The Google Music player. Most advanced players are equipped with their own presets to improve the sound quality.
- Go to the sound settings and visit the “Equalizer” section (sometimes in the “Sound and Effects” subsection).

To control the bass, adjust the range to 125 Hz, and the human voice – 150-250 Hz, to give speech realism, sharpness – 620-1000 Hz, legible speech is done in the range – 1.2 … 4 kHz, 5… 8 kHz – is responsible for tweaking the vocals, giving the sound volume. Set up the equalizer on your computer and laptop for Windows 7, 8 and 10

Manual settings and presets for the equalizer to different sound
Both soundboard drivers and players store ready-made pre-editing adapted to listen to the music of certain genres. It is recommended to use them, pre-adapting to yourself (different spectral sensitivity of hearing organs, playback devices, preferences of music lover, etc.). Above, you know how to work with templates, edit for yourself, and save.
To twist the bass, you can increase the frequencies to 250 Hz manually or choose the appropriate setting of “Full Bass” or “Bass” in AIMP and the Realtek HD driver. In other players, the item has a similar name. Also, try “Full Bass and Treble.”
The Realtek HD controller has a virtual, 3D sound option in the “Speaker Configuration” tab.
A similar option is built into Windows Sonic. To activate, call the context menu of the speaker icon in the, bring the cursor to the item “Spatial Sound (Switch off),” and select “Windows Sonic for headphones.” With the support of acoustics, the “Dolby Atmos for Headphones” option will appear on the list

This is done in the “Improvements” tab in speaker properties or the “Sound Effect” tab.
In the driver, settings are automatically applied to the sound card.
For PUBG, reset the equalizer configuration and manually set the following values.

Escape from Tarkov features an innovative sound engine, and settings from CS GO, Rainbow Six Siege, and other games are not suitable.
More precisely, the equalizer for headphones will be configured by the Equalizer APO utility. Additionally, it is used to switch between presets. Create a new configuration, specify the values from the table, and save the settings.
